Unfortunately, this is my last message to you for the foreseeable future. I will not go into detail, but I am being forced to change my location. Security has gone up as of late. I suspect the Party has had to "heal" another member they saw potential in. I suspect that this time, it was someone he saw potential in.
Back when I was close with the party, I had made a friend. Not just a comrade I found the company of more tolerable, but someone whose company I truly enjoyed. I have yet to meet anyone whose intelligence can rival his own. You see, he knew the truth. All of it. I recall him boasting to me about our positions of power and what lay at our fingertips. I do miss him, despite our current differences. He always had a second sense when it came to people. He would tell you what you were thinking before you even thought it. I see myself in him. We both are sober to the Party's methods of control, we only chose to go down separate paths.
He used to say to me, "every human being is doomed to die, Emmanuel." But I never believed him. As human beings, we are not doomed to die, but destined to live. We only die once, but we get to live every day. And I made the choice to do just that. I encourage you, comrades, to recognize that we are all human and rather alike. If not for yourselves, hold on to the truth for the sake of the posterity. So be brave and stay determined. Stay wary of ThoughtPolice who will claim to be sided with the Brotherhood. And remember that at the end of it all, free will is the true resistance.
